The Infiniti Emerg-E

The Infiniti Emerg-E a hybrid supercar built in Britain and it powered by a Lotus engine, Shocking I know. But the outcome was worth the step out of the comfort zone, because they have created a 400 horsepower mid-engine monster that will do a 0-60 just under 4 seconds.

The Emerg-E is powered by a 400lb; 17kWh lithium-ion battery backed by the Lotus 1.2L three cylinder petrol engine that is used as a generator. This 1.2L engine produces 47 horsepower, which is the reason why the car is limited to 130 mph, but to get it to 130 mph the wheels are powered by an combined 400 horsepower electric motors.

But it is not all about the power that the car is making that makes this such a wonderful master peace. “It’s both a technology and a design showcase,” says Jerry Hardcastle, Vice president of vehicle design and development for Nissan’s European Technical Centre. And this is easy to see with its sporty aluminum body covered in carbine fiber panels.
